August 2019
ESC-diary in retrospect, month no. 12

I cannot believe that this is the last part of the ESC-diary in retrospect series. Month number 12, August 2019, the last month I spent in Austria. I can honestly say that it was the best year of my life and that I think back to this adventure with nothing but love and warm feelings. I really fell in love with Vorarlberg and I cannot wait to go back there. Read more »

July 2019
ESC-diary in retrospect, month no. 11

Usually, I go straight into the diary part, but I think that July requires some introduction, some context. The first half of the month was 100% filled with the World Gymnaestrada 2019 (and a teeny tiny bit of sleep) and the second half was filled with traveling and being away; the biggest possible contrast in one month. Before I go into the World Gymnaestrada and the week before it started, I’ll show you some photos to give you an impression of what it looks like, later on there are also two videos to make it a little bit more tangible. However, I do not think that any pictures or videos can transmit the feeling that is tied to that week; it is something you have to experience in person.

All credits for the Gymnaestrada-photos below, as well as the photo above here, go to Fototeam DIGITAL Wolfurt. They did a great job capturing all the beautiful people and moments. Read more »

My mother panicked and my dad had to take the shirt off to get rid of the bat. It was hilarious, I laughed so hard (and thanked the universe that the bat wasn’t on me). Read more »

May 2019
ESC-diary in retrospect, month no. 9

– 1st of may, wednesday –
The first of May is a holiday in Austria, which meant a day off work for me. I needed a calm day, to disconnect and to think. I took the train to Hohenems, where I went hiking to the ruins of an 11th century castle. I turned off my mobile phone and just walked around outside, taking breaks writing in my journal. In the evening, I went to a concert of Eagle-Eye Cherry with two friends, which was really nice. Read more »

April 2019
ESC-diary in retrospect, month no. 8

– 4th and 5th of april, thursday and friday –
We were working at a spring fair with my project and I did not like it at all. There were way too many people and we weren’t organised so well, so we had to do a million last-minute things and that was exhausting. On Thursday we also went to a gala event with work, which was cool to see, but at the same time totally not my crowd. I was super exhausted after these two days. Read more »
